I can confirm that united internet does not block the whole domain of spamgourmet.com. They seem to blacklist individual accounts. I will wait for one day for additional confirmation and will then raise a ticket at united internet to whitelist all accounts.

@Beneter: "and will then raise a ticket at united internet to whitelist all accounts"

Thank you very much :-).

It seems that also sending from spamgourmet (= in reality United Internet/gmx through SG) to another account is delayed:
Someone told me that he didn't receive my email (at his gmail-account) 15 hrs after I sent it.

For receiving emails through SG at United Internet (gmx.de and gmx.com) same story as already known:
- some get through immediately
- some get delayed up to approx. 60 hrs
- some never get through

I have opened a ticket but as of now it is unclear if it is an issue of Spamgourmet or of United Internet. I will only post the Ticket number here when this is clear to me, to reduce spam.
Gmx.de only provides paid support via phone -.- But even the first level seems to be pretty competent.
A Test-Mail by them was delayed for 5 h. So I assume we are close to finding the cause.

I still think that GMX is greylisting individual Spamgourmet adresses.

Hi,

I'm having the same problems. Did some tests.
Approximately 60-70 percent of the emails never arrive at my protected address at GMX. The rest is received either immediate or with several hours of delay. Nothing is (re-)moved according to any personal filter rule or to the Spam directory. I could not find any pattern to take into account yet.

It's very annoying. This problem makes spamgourmet, which is one of the greatest services in the net ever, nearly useless.
Hope you could find a solution.

Hey,

I guess United Internet is greylisting "@ob.0sg.net" or "ob.0sg.net".

That would explain, why there aren't usually problems with receiving emails at a gmx address, which are sent by a SG user (because the last part of the email address is always something else [@spameater.org , recursor.net or whatever,...), but there are huge and unreliable delays with sending and receiving emails, if the spamgourmet user himself uses a GMX/United Internet email address (because the visible email address for GMX/United Internet is always "@ob.0sg.net").

Just my 2 cents.

JFK

P.S.: Changed my hidden email address of one of my SG accounts temporarily to another provider and no problems at all (as aspected)...

I finally changed my email from gmx to mail.de
The delays and losses at gmx were unbearable.

Just for the reord:
I used a gmx email address, and had the described delivery problems too and did a service call to gmx.
They insited on "not blocking or blacklisting anything, and therefore the forwarding delay can't be their fault".
I changed the forward address and email works perfect again.

Thank you SG for the greate service!

cheers

So... the ticket I raised at gmx.de is stuck in 2nd Level. They have not provided any feedback within one week. They have seen a bounce and were able to reproduce a delay of 5 h.
Therefore if you are facing the issue as well please raise a ticket at United Internet and refer to my ticket ID C900229261.

Unfortunately gmx.de only provides phone support which even costs 3,99 € per call for Freemail users. You should be able to test Promail without cost for a month; but they have a reputation for not being fair when you cancel your Promail membership...

Beneter and I have been working this in a PM. It's not quite solved yet, since the log for their rejecting his test email results in a generic admin reject, with a link in the rejection message linking to a generic rejection FAQ. At any given time the mail queue is about 1/3rd for gmx.de alone, about 400 emails (edit) 2/3 grepping for gmx. Not aware of what other United Internet Domains could be. He also showed me this weekend that the spamgourmet's DNS config is incomplete. I was able to add some entries for gourmet8 concerning A and MX, but with the current design of spamgourmet we cannot satisfy DKIM and thus DMARC (largely since the subject line of the e-mail is appended to include the spamgourmet word and the amount used vs number of total forwards), so I sincerely hope that United Internet has not gone to requiring DKIM or DMARC,

With that said, Beneter says he was able to send a test email that went right through (edit, he has since withdrawn this comment), but I am unable to ~flush~ (edit) force the mail queue and it's grown since last night. So until United tells us what policy a gourmet mail is violating, there's not anything we can know for sure .

However there is some hope for spamgourmet in spite of United Internet.
Last weekend I discovered a feature this weekend called AlternativeDeliveryAddress which associates a User with a set of Alternative Recipient Addresses, which by itself does not forward anything, but then allows you to associate a given spamgourmet address with specified alternative recipients. (It looks like the separation exists so that confirmation emails can be sent out).
Looking at the rows it looks like my dad created it so my mom could receive some utilities emails on her email account through spamgourmet, and I've added myself to a few that are used to run spamgourmet, looks like spameater is using it and the datatables exist, just does not seem to be mapped out a web configuration and API.
SysKoll and I are going to spend some time this week getting a web interface going for it, but if you have anything urgent, let us know through PMs.
I saw one of you here trying to move off of spamgourmet and have a few accounts with lost confirmation emails. I think this may work for you in the short term.

It looks like there are over 10,000 of you United Internet subscribers so please don't all pile up at once. we have finite Inboxes here.

Thank you so much for your effort josiah and SysKoll!

I have edited my post again and posted my ticket-ID. @All: Please create tickets at united internet and refer to C900229261.

First of all (as mention before): Yes, its a lot of work that is done here and I really appreciate the effort that is taken into this service.
Second (also mentiones bevore): I'm not a united internet customer.(or use anything within the company and its sub-companies/partner)

I never had issues during this discussion, but yesterday I became part of the "email is not forwarded" family. Due to an email confirmation process of a service I like to use, I tried with several spamgourmet addresses, and waited at least 1-5h per attempt if I do receive the confirmation mail.
To check that the other service does not have problem with sending out mails, I now made a last attempt with an spamgourmet mail, waited 15 Minutes, and as I did not receive a mail, I changed to an other trashmail address.
And received my confirmation mail within minutes.
I the checked my spamgourmet account if the mails were eaten by mistake. Answer: no.
I checked my mailserver if the mails has been rejected or classified as spam or even if the mails has arrived at the mailserver. Answer: no.

So, either there is a new (different) problem with Spamgourmet, or the unreliable email forwarding is not a pure "united internet" issue anymore.

But what really confuses me: Between all my tests, I received at least 1 Mail from spamgourmet, but from an other spamgourmet account.

Edit: Mhm, seems that now it works again with the one account. What I did? I clicked on „save“ for my protected email address (without editing it). Seems to me like spamgourmet has forgotten where to forward the mails to.

Hello,

I have been missing some mails and did my own tests before I found this thread today.

Besides some other tests I sent 3 mails from my business account on Friday about 10:00 UTC:
- mail 1 : to the fairly new address I am missing mails from
- mail 2 : to an old address which worked for years
- mail 3 : to a not then existing test address

All three mails were sent to the same SG account with "@0sg.net".

Funny enough the mails 2 and 3 went through almost immediately but mail 1 did not.

Finaly this morning at 04:45 UTC I got a delay notice from gourmet7.spamgourmet.com on my business account telling me that the mail wasn't delivered within more than 24 hours.

But the most annoying thing is that this notice included my secret GMX address as RCPT TO.

I can provide this notice mail for investigation but don't want to post it here for obvious reason.

With best regards
Jörg Meier

The delayed "mail 1" finally made it to my GMX account on Sunday at 20:46 UTC.

And one of the three originally missing mails although went through after 41 hours.

My ticket finally was forwarded to the "security group" who is responsible for the filtering rules at gmx.de.

I have an GMX ProMail account and I have the same problems, started a few months ago.
Some mails got lost, some mails got even rejected, most ones take hours to arrive.
I always thought Spamgourmet's performances had degraded: Today I learned from this thread here that I'm not alone and that it is specific to GMX/web.de customers.
Since I'm a paying customer of GMX, I reported the problem today to GMX's support. I'll let you know what happens.

BTW: In the meantime, I changed the target address from GMX to my mailbox.org address => No problem anymore. Mails arrive instantly.
But I'll see what GMX will tell me ...
