New Problem with multiple sg addresses?

Postby JOMan » Tue Jan 30, 2007 2:56 pm

May be related to other post regarding multiple sg addresses in the TO: line.

I have just received two messages that were addressed to multiple SG recipients:

To: mypoints.20.c******@neverbox.com, ritelife.xop.p***@neverbox.com,
erewards.20.jo****@neverbox.com,
retailreportcard.20.jp***@neverbox.com

It was spam, of course. What's interesting is that the subject came through as:

Subject: Buy Viagra Now! Online Pharmacy! - Valentine Day Discounts. ( retailreportc: message 1 of 20) ( erewards: message 1 of 20)

Only one of those is my disposable. Mine is the erewards address, which is at 20 messages, not 1.... but I just checked it and now there are two erewards in the list of spamgourmet addresses, one with 19 max 1 remaining, and one with 0 max 0 remaining. So there's two problems going on here.

1) The messages to others are getting crossed/doubled in the subject line
2) Duplicate disposable addresses are being created.

Got another message with the same circumstances -- multiple neverbox recipients, multiple tags in the subject line, and now I've got two "xerox" addresses listed in spamgourmet. Xerox is also another address I switched to 0 messages max/0 remaining.

that does look like an issue.

Can you post the headers for that message? They'll help with tracing through

I had a similar problem - I received spam at two different (though similar) SG addresses: nytimes.10.c******@neverbox.com, and nytimeslp.10.c******@neverbox.com. I created both of these addresses myself (despite the similar names) - however, what I did not create were two more duplicate entries for both of these addresses.

Here are the headers:

calin79,
I now more info about the nyt* addresses. There really are four distinct addresses, but the two newest ones (created this month) have spaces or tabs padding the front end in the database - they don't show up that way on the web page, because we know what HTML does to spaces and tabs.

This is much more likely to be due solely to a bug in our code than it is to any outside influence -- I'm looking for it. To help me narrow it down, can I ask whether you've used the "send from a disposable address" feature on either of these recently?

calin79 - I replied to your email -- that was a bug that came in on Jan 23, when another bug fix was introduced. I fixed it and deleted the unnaturally occuring address records.

This was one of the two issues in the original post -- I'm still looking at the other one.
