Is it possible to configure the forum so that the rel="nofollow" attribute is inserted into any links in the posts? It doesn't actually stop bots from posting the spam, but it stops the spam from benefiting their PageRank?.

It doesn't stop spambots and still leaves messages polluting the BBS. So we just whack the messages and the users, and we make it harder to post spam. You'll notice that spam has become rarer.
