Dots not accepted in email address

I have a problem getting my spamgourmet address being accepted and this is because of the dots appearing before the @ part. What are the alternative delimiters other than ~ which also doesn't work in my case?

. and ~ are the only two delimiters on our system. I have to ask:

1) did you try it with one dot? eg. word.user@spamgourmet.com ?
-- that address would use your default "number", which by default is 3

2) Could it be a problem with the domain name instead of the dot(s)? If so, have you tried some of the other domain names?

Thank you for the reply. The problem was with the domain name. Apparently they didn't like "spamgourmet". :)

amazon.co.uk refuses my first login with @xoxy.net and warns of to many dots.

Just press 'secure login' again and it is accepted.

I have not had this problem with any other site including online banking etc.
