Given the pointlessness of this post, I'd be wondering if it was made solely to gain better search engine ratings for the user's home page (shown in their profile) which appears to be a web-hosting service using enough dubious SEO techniques to get it blacklisted in any half-decent search engine.

You're right, this is a new form of forum spamming. Ask pointless questions and have a link in the message. Admins cursorily reading the forum, as well as automated spam filters, might not detect it as such. No such leniency from admins on this board, though.

Do me a favor, don't answer these spams, because now we have your messages standing in a vaccuum, refering to posts that have been deleted!
