Is it possible to donate subdomains?

It is quite easy to configure a MX for a subdomain as

themail.mydomain.tld

So the donner would keep his real mail server and it will increase the number of available domains for SG

Yes, it is, and MX is the cleanest way to do it. You have to let us know, though, so we can modify some local configuration to pickup the domain.
