your'e using the english language, I take it?
I'm not sure what the problem is -- if you have time, could you "view source" and email the source to the info email address?

I think the guest without the message count could be looking at an old page in the cache if the browser [especially iexplore.exe] is set to 'never' check for new pages at the server.
Guest should make a point of clicking refresh once signed in and looking at the advanced page.
I have the same type of experience all the time as a consequence of having deliberately chosen the 'never' policy. I often will update a message count and then be shown my address list with the old count apparently unchanged; refreshing is then required. Sometimes refresh alone is not enough. In the latter instance, I:
[1]
View a completely unrelated page (about:blank is a good choice];
[2]
Empty the cache, including off-line content;
[3]
Clear the history;
[4]
In especially stubborn cases, close and reopen the browser.

I tried emptying the cache without success.
I've emailed the source to info.

I don't know if anyone was following this, but if so: the problem was caused by using the test language code ZZ -- it still had the older form template. I removed the template and it started working (switching to EN would have worked, too)
THANKS

Only a small point, but if you create a new disposable of the two-words-and-no-number style AT THE SITE
someword.user [the A in a circle] spamgourmetdomain [period] com
it will default to 3, not the count set as 'default number'.
New disposables created by FIRST USE default to the 'default number' correctly.
New users of spamgourmet should note this, and remember to change the count for any new address that they create at the site.
