email getting eaten inapropriately :(

Postby Guest » Thu Apr 29, 2004 5:42 pm

I'm working an a web store at http://pekoesiphouse.com, when I have the store email my account psh.kicks.thellamasass AT neverbox dot com, I see the available uses count decrease, but the message never shows up in my inbox. If I send a similar message from yahoo to the same address it gets through just fine.

Any clues?

Thanks!

TheLlamasAss,

So you know that sg does not eat emails sent to that account. Yahoo gets through, and the counter gets decremented.

The answer is bloody obvious: the ISP that you use for your forwarding address is deleting emails coming from http://pekoesiphouse.com.

Check with your ISP and see what their blacklist policy is.

Forgive me for being bloody stupid ;) but don't the emails arrive from neverbox.com rather than from pekoesiphouse.com? OK, so that is what I thought when I posted the question. I just sent mail directly from pekoesiphouse.com to my real address... and whaddaya know, the email doesn't arrive. I'll take it up with the ISP. Thanks for your response!

Sorry for the use of the word "bloody", I certainly didn't mean to belittle you, I meant it in a "eureka" way! :-)

Now, it would be really interesting to know who your ISP is and why they quarantine or delete mail from pekoesiphouse.com. If you get the answer, please post!

Thanks a lot.

No clue, have not heard from their tech support and I posted
hours ago, they are normally way on top of this sort of thing.
Now the network including DNS just vanished for a few minutes
... I hope this isn't the beginning of the end :)

P.S. I'll post if/when I figure out what was going on.
