Location/ language detection not helpful

Postby Sheygetz » Sat Feb 02, 2019 6:06 pm

I'm encountering the following case:
Located in Germany I g'gle "spamgourmet reply address".
The first link offered is "https://www.spamgourmet.com/index.pl?printpage=faq.html" - the FAQ, fine.
Following that I invariably arrive at a German version of the FAQ (gee, for all you don't know I might be an Aussie expat). That German version does of course not have my original search term "reply address", as these words are not German (trust me on that).
So now I have to consider how your translator might have translated the search term ... phew.
And you thought you were making s.o.'s life easier, I guess.

How about having little flags on top of the site where pundits can change lingo if they so desire. This behaviour is not helpful.

I guess your browser is set up with English as first language. In such a case, check cookies for SG site, there is one related to language (don't remember its exact name, but self-explanatory), if present just delete it and reload page. Hopefully it should now be in the language fitting your browser's settings.
BTW : I checked with French as first language, then back to English as I used to, and it worked.
