Replying to emails

Postby friedbadger » Fri Nov 12, 2010 6:15 pm

I've just noticed a snag in this. If you click reply to an email received via your spamgourmet email address it sends it "from" your real email address and not your spamgourmet one. I used to use sneakemail and this would rewrite the sender email address so that you could just reply to an email without editing the address. Please can you change this, thanks.

What about reply all?
I tried this with 3 email addresses and when I sent a mail using reply all the non-originating email got my real email address.
cheers

I do have "reply address masking" enabled. However incoming messages do not have the sender address rewritten since replying goes direct to the sender.

If you look at the spec in RFC5322 section 3.4 it shows the correct format for email addresses. The problem with spamgourmet is that it puts the masked address in the "display name" part and not in the real email address (angle-addr from the RFC). It should be the other way around IMHO.

It's broken again!

Just noticed that this is not working again. It is again putting the masked address in the "display name" part and not in the real email address (angle-addr from the RFC). It should be the other way around. It's pain to have to edit the address when replying.
