Just got a spam to an address only known to Trans Union.
The spam came from a company calling themselves "TrueCredit". Is that a brand of Trans Union? They're selling one of these credit monitoring services.
Of all the sensitive databases to be disclosed, I would rank Trans Union among the top. If this is a compromise, it could turn into something big, since AFAIK consumers don't have a privacy right that enables them to keep their information out of the trans union database. Consumers are forced to allow their private data to be stored with an organization that has potentially just proven to be untrustworthy.
