Slow Messages

Postby boom0625 » Mon Jan 26, 2009 12:29 am

For the past few days, my spamgourmet messages have been turning up with the following problem:

Connection was dropped by remote host (SENT_EHLO)

Usually it gets through after about an hour, but I'm just wondering. Also, i have a few other instances where messages can take a while to arrive, for example, with this message header:

Received:<myspamgormetaddresshere>; Tue, 20 Jan 2009 05:26:59 GMT
Received: from web19.luv.gravatar.com (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) by web19.luv.gravatar.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id for <myspamgormetaddresshere>; Tue, 20 Jan 2009 01:57:18 +0000 (UTC)
Received: from en.gravatar.com (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) by web19.luv.gravatar.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id for <myspamgormetaddresshere>; Tue, 20 Jan 2009 01:57:18 +0000 (UTC)

Or here:

Received: from mailexpire.com (66-199-224-85.reverse.ezzi.net [66.199.224.85] (may be forged)) by gourmet.spamgourmet.com (8.13.8/8.13.7) with ESMTP id for <myspamgormetaddresshere>; Sat, 17 Jan 2009 19:23:21 GMT
Received: from mailexpire.com (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by mailexpire.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id for <myspamgormetaddresshere>; Sat, 17 Jan 2009 18:46:07 +0000 (UTC)

This is usually not a problem, as the messages usually arrive eventually, and the delay is often not more then 3 hours. I'm just wondering what kinds of things cause such delays. I think I may be getting my time zones messed up if UTC and GMT have a greater difference than I think (or are they the same? Yea, I think they're the same) . Oh well =). Any ideas to what can cause these delays?

You're in the wrong forum and ignored the relevant topic in the right forum.
