EDIT: All right! We now have a "confirmed thank you."

The "Eaten Message Log" recorded its first "legit deletion" since before the problem started - the aforementioned "inkcoupon" email from my online ink vendor. This is the type of record I've been missing, the "Guys, when I need ya I'll call ya" email. I can refill those addresses when I run low on ink or whatever, get those offers, then shut them down again until the need arises. Order is restored... thank you again.
