Power outage

Postby SysKoll » Wed Nov 15, 2006 10:58 pm

This morning (Nov. 15), the Cari.net had a power fluctuation and all their servers were rebooted. In Data Center parlance, that's a big no-no, since they are supposed to have UPSes. I guess that right now, the guy who maintains their electrical back-up system is not very happy.

The machine was rebooted around 10:45 Pacific Time (18:45 UTC). So mail sent to SG during the few minutes that this outage lasted was probably delayed.

Here is the Cari.net announce:

At approximately 10:45am, on Wednesday November 15th, Cari.net's C2 data center experienced a power fluctuation which resulted in the reboot of all hosted servers within this facility. Power and connectivity were restored almost instantly.

If you are still experiencing problems with any specific server, please open a case with the specific server and issue. Otherwise, complete details regarding this outage will be made available as soon as quickly as possible.

All Cari.net personnel are working as quickly as possible to mitigate customer downtime.

Thank you for your patience.
