Wave of new spam messages

Postby SysKoll » Sat May 20, 2006 5:54 am

Folks,

A spammer (using a machine in Shanghai) posted several dozens of copies of a spam message. Naturally, the messages were deleted.

However, if you were watching a forum that the little idiot hit, you might have received a message about a reply in this forum and, not seeing any new post after ly big cleanup, you might wonder what the message was. Well, don't look for it any further. :-)

It's bizarre that this forum seems to get such posts regularly - and the majority from China also (BTW - you missed one). Perhaps adding a CAPTCHA in the form of an IQ test is the answer...

It's not just that forum, it's many.

As for China, they have cheap labor, so of course, spending a minute of their time for answering a captcha just to post a few ephemeral spam messages is economically more attractive than for, say, a guy in Lichtenstein.
