spamgourmet user Stewart (probably not his user id) donated the domain inboxclean.com, and it's now active -- thanks Stewart!!!

Thanks Stewart!

I want to donate a domain, too. How?

How can I donate a domain (e.g. spam-en.de, which means end-to-spam in german, and which is still available)?
Do I register it and point MX to some spamgourmet host? Forward HTTP as well? What else?
Thanks, greetings from germany,
Mark

Sure -- do that :) -- when the MX is set up (gourmet.spamgourmet.com), let us know, and we can hook it up on our end.

OK, now I've set up MX of domain spam-en.de to
MX 1 216.75.35.164 / Prio 10
MX 2 216.75.35.134 / Prio 10

What's next? Where do I redirect www.spam-en.de to?

Greetings from Mark

sorry about the delay. The mail is working.

Do what you like with the web page -- if you want to foward it to the spamgourmet site, that's fine -- just www.spamgourmet.com.

It's kind of cooler if you put up something else, though, so that when someone sees a @spam-en.de address and goes to look at the website, they'll wonder what's going on (or maybe not).

check out mamber.net

I agree with Josh... I think that is why people are more accepting of mamber.net than the other ones since they dont know it is just a disposeable address. mamber has always worked for me, and I love it. If I could make a webpage for all of them I would... but Iam no webpage designer, and I am not artistic.

Is the spam-en.de domain still active?

Is the spam-en.de domain still active? I was trying out sending to a few SG domains I saw listed and three messages sent to that domain did not get to me (and also did not increment the eaten count for the address).

The first two messages seem to have vanished into the aether but the third yielded a bounce saying "retry timeout exceeded."

ooh - looks like it's down - the MX records are pointing to the IP addresses of our old server (instead of pointing to the hostname gourmet.spamgourmet.com) so they didn't move over when we moved. I'll try and contact the domain owner.

The spam-en.de domain is once again active

Well done.

@spam-en.de is working again now.

Hi, Josh. I'm a very happy user of your fine service. I just registered XOXY.WORK and XOXY.UK and would like to donate their use to the SG community. I have pointed the MX records to gourmet7.spamgourmet.com. Anything else you would like me to do to enable their use?

Thanks!!

That should be all you need to do. I will need to configure them on this end and I'll post again when I do

I suppose the domains are available for as long as the user pays them, right? They could become unavaible without any notice, which would suck..

Here's an idea: A place on the site where it shows for how long a domain has been paid in advance, so we know if we should use it or not.. (I know we can do that with a whois search, but still) And perhaps a way to donate to specific domain names?
