slowdown and catchup

We had a hard drive fail -- fortunately we're now using 21st century RAID technology, and so no data was lost, but our system was offline for a bit and then had the extra work of rebuilding its RAID image (basically copying everything over to the replacement drive), which caused a system slowdown. We expect delayed mail to be coming in over the course of today, so don't be surprised if things look a few hours older than you were expecting.

Thanks for the update and for your work bringing it back online. I just sent a few $$ your way because I rely on SG a ton and RAID isn't free.

Thanks!

Honestly I may have made it worse than it needed to be by keeping the mail server offline while the RAID rebuilt. Next time, I'll probably start it back up right away. At least I can say this is a lot better than our previous hard drive failures when we didn't have RAID (eek)

And once again - massive kudos to our service provider cari.net for actually replacing the hard drive!!
