By my calculation and recollection, next Tuesday, September 29, 2015 will mark the 15 year anniversary of spamgourmet being publically accessible. The website looked fairly dated even back then :)

It's such a huge part of our lives that I bet most of us will be really stuck without it.

So what's next? I think the service's Achilles' heel is support. How come the forums are pretty much abandoned when it comes to developers?

I propose bounties as something that might upturn this situation.
You know, like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bountysource in which developers can collect money for implementing specific bug fixes and feature requests.

Congratulations on the 15 years!

I've only been using spamgourmet for 14 years, 7 months and 24 days so I'm a latecomer. :) Thanks for eating so much of the spam I used to block with a far more cumbersome one account per business system using a semi-private namespace created by using public webmail with a long prefix before each individual address, like agdgsgsd6g97ghs_realaddress@example.com.

Spamgourmet is the awesomest!

(And with regard to what was said above, I don't think Spamgourmet needs anything. It works. Reliably. For 15 years. Boom, done!)

I too came late to the party. I've only been a user of this wonderful service since early 2003. I am very, very grateful (and more than a little surprised) that it has been running so long, providing sterling service. Long may that continue. And my continued heartfelt thanks to the people behind it. I have tried buying things on Amazon wishlists and other methods to show my appreciation, and would happily do more.

The statistics are amazing: as of writing -

Nearly 300,000 user accounts.
Over 7 million disposable addresses.
Nearly 100 million messages delivered.
Nearly a billion messages eaten.

Well done for providing such a reliable and useful service. Thank-you again.

wow - passed a billion messages eaten! I had sort of thought I would capture the billionth spam message, sort of like looking at your odometer when your car passes 100,000 (miles, kilometers, etc.), but I missed it. That actually wouldn't have been a good thing to do anyway, privacy breach probably (unless it happened to be addressed to me). Anyway - 1 billion!

A belated happy return for the 16th anniversary. Please accept my continued thanks.

Have you had any thoughts about continuity planning? At some point, for whatever reasons, it may no longer be viable for you to carry on running the service. I would love to contribute, but I'm likely older than you are, have fewer resources, and less skilled, which is not a happy combination.

I know you very kindly make the underlying code available for others to use, but at present, I don't know of anyone who does that. You certainly need the support of an understanding ISP, and you are probably a massive target for a DOS attack, so I am not only very grateful to you, but also to your hosts, who are probably under-appreciated by the service's users.

Thank-you for your work.

I've got to say, from time to time I've considered downloading the SpamGourmet source code and setting it up on my own server, or building equivalent functionality into my own mail server code, but spamgourmet.com has just been so reliable and effective, it isn't worth the time to duplicate it myself. Kudos for a job well done.
