Did some *releases* today! It's been about 5 years since we did a release for the spamgourmet code, but the current version has always been in the code repository (previously CVS, now subversion) at sourceforge. Anyway, the latest is currently also available via the download page, and we're calling it v 2.0.3. I also put up a release for SgMailto, and I'm in the process of shutting off the info at spamgourmet dot com address in favor of this script -- it's already implemented here on the website, but I haven't actually shut off the address yet. But... I did notice that taking the AddressScrambler-protected mailto link off the main page here seemed to result in a huge drop in spam, and so that can only mean that the harvesters are indeed now using javascript, and so AddressScrambler's useful days are behind us -- I deprecated it on the download page, but it's still there.

Hi,

Just wondering what this means in terms of new features or changes for the spamgourmet site...

TIA

Nothing -- just did a release of the current code.

If you're one of the folks who've been wanting the feature to turn off the tagline for trusted/exclusive senders -- it's actually here, now, but the website doesn't allow you to turn it on. In the meantime, I can turn it on for whoever wants it in the back end (just PM me with your username)

No, I'm not. Just used to find release notes when a new version of a service (or soft) is released, to know how new stuff could improve my usage

I hate to say I told you so, but I remember a lot of people (usually not from these forums though) who argued with me about AddressScrambler like protection. I kept saying it's just a matter of time, but they treated it like it's a God given code that will never be hacked.

BTW, why is SgMailto's download link striked?

That was a mistake - thanks for catching it.
