mail [used to be] not going thru - xoxy.net

Postby qqdcqqdc » Mon Sep 18, 2006 11:25 pm

I use the alt domain xoxy.net (rather than the lengthy spamgourmet.com). It seems email addr to that domain (eg. <whatever>@xoxy.net) aren't coming thru during the last several hours, while <whatever>@spamgourmet.com does. Any help?

confirming: xoxy.net mail not working.

confirming: xoxy.net mail not working for me either since yesterday. Your "Search Addresses" page reflects no increase in "Sent" mails either. Thanks.

My fault - misconfiguration [ducks] - working now. If it's any consolation, that's the domain I use, too.

I am afraid that the email sent to xoxy.net before Josh's fix is lost forever.

i have a similar problem.

emails to xoxy.net arent coming through - the funny thing is:
it works for some adresses - i tried to send myself an email to a new @xoxy.net adress and it was there the next second.

however, when trying to retrieve a password, the "remaining"-count was reduced from 20 to 19, but the mail wasn't forwarded.

and i'm trying this for days now.

I also checked my spamfolder (which thanx to spamgourmet is empty most of the time)

You mean you didn't receive it. The decremented counter means the email was forwarded. Who is the protected addresses' ISP?

I believe email is making it thru xoxy.net.

However it's really slow. :( Like a day late. Do you have a milter setup somewhere in that flow?

We are under attack by at least one spammer. The guy is using a DDoS attack, flooding us with connections. We see an increasing number of them, several thousands a day. We are working on countermeasures. Since Josh is currently unavailable (http://www.recursor.net/blosxom.cgi/2006/11/08#baby1), the duty fell on yours truly.

If one of you guys is fluent with the DNSBL feature of sendmail, please send me a PM.

Permanent delivery errors

Postby Spambuster1 » Sun Nov 12, 2006 5:33 pm

Here's what I'm getting today (11/12/06) when I sent a message to one of my own disposable address after waiting hours and still not receiving confirmation of an order I placed when using an xoxy.net address as the point-of-contact:

"This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

xxx.t.xxx@xoxy.net

retry time not reached for any host after a long failure period"

Now I can put up with delayed message deliveries but these permanent errors don't cut it. Businesses aren't going to take the time to go back later and try again. They'll just assume you gave them a bogus address and move on.

What's up with this?

That's weird. I use a disposable address for Skype, they just sent me an info email (about my credit) and it went through within minutes.

I'll look into it and see what's the problem. Meanwhile, why don't you send me a PM with your sg ID and the disposable to which this email was sent? I'll look at the logs.
