'&' causes email misdirection

Postby mizar » Tue Dec 06, 2005 5:23 pm

I recently tried to send a message to "BLAHX&Y-remove@domain.org" by using "send a message from one of your disposable addresses." It seemed to work fine, but I quickly got a message returning my mail. The spamgourmet MAILER-DAEMON claimed that I had sent my message to "BLAHX@gourmet.spamgourmet.com", which did not exist.

Are '&' somehow replaced in the email addresses created by spamgourmet? When I created my disposable address it said it was going to the right place. The address looked like: +word+spamcowboy+010483ebd5.BLAHX&Y-remove#domain.org@ spamgourmet.com

Any ideas on how to get my spamgourmet address off the BLAHX&Y mailing list?

Strange. "&" is not a special char as per RFC 822, we should be able to process it normally.
