Just received a spam message on a hidden email ID

Postby vsp » Tue Aug 30, 2005 6:32 pm

Actually,

That ID has been hidden for a very long time. I am surprised I received a spam at that ID.

I can send private email to the developers with which ID it is. Don't want to publicise it since I am receiving spam at it :D

Well, now you need to set its count to 0, not just hide it.

Receiving messages on a hidden email ID

Postby brabason » Tue Sep 26, 2006 11:37 pm

I am receiving email from a hidden address with zero messages allowed.

This is the only address that I have noticed this hapening on, it is for a no longer wanted news letter from a specified sender.

As a 'work around', I have modified the 'preferred sender' address. I am now waiting to see if this works.

FYI, if you set an exclusive sender then that person can use the email indefinitely (until you change it) without regard for how many messages are left on the address.

Receiving messages on a hidden email ID

Thanks

This is news to me, I thought that hiding an address was sufficient

I always zero the message count on exclusive senders: previously I have found that other senders could get through on a message count

Now I have some work to do stripping out all those exclusive sender addresses
