"From" Field in the Email

Hi,

Today I received a spam through one of the disposable addresses (~xxx.~yyy.~zzz@SG). The "From" field of the email displays:

+~xxx+~zzz+c540239b6e.impacthealthcare#bigpond.com@SG

This resembles an address when I use the "click here to send an email from one of your disposable addresses" on the SG web site.

Since I have never sent any email to "impacthealth (at) bigpond (dot) com" using any method, could anyone explain how I would receive such a spam with its "From" field already scrambled? Thanks.

Not necessarily. This can also be the reply address of an email forwarded by SG when the masking option is enabled. It can also be an email from a mailing list to whom you gave the address ~xxx.~yyy.~zzz and that got captured somehow, e.g. by a worm running on the PC of another list subscriber.
