Outage due to bad config, solved

We had an outage due to a botched file permission. This outage was preventing connections from a lot of servers using TLS. Including big ones like Gmail, among others.

The problem has been fixed. Tests show that we are now back to the same point as before, at least. Apologies for the disruption this brought to many users (including us!)

Reminder: We still are not compliant with DANE, so email servers that insist on this verification cannot talk to us. We are working to find a solution. Our ISP does not even provide the basic DNS support for the DANE-mandated records, so Josiah is contacting them.

From what I have noticed on my account, I think the issue started on the 20th February (either afternoon or evening) or the Morning of 21st February (GMT/UK time)

The range of times I see are that it began at Wed, Feb 22, 4:25 AM (US Central) and ending at Tue, Feb 28, 4:24 AM. The nearly exact TODs on the two make me think that there's a timer someplace that is refreshing at that point, but that's a guess.

It seems, that the problem with the DNS support for the DANE-mandated records is still not solved.

Is there an idea, when it will get solved?

Thank you in advance.

Cheers,

JFK
