Trusted senders pass although I have set "only exclusiv

Postby Karl-Egon » Sun Mar 21, 2004 10:25 pm

Hallo,

I have more than one SG-addy.
One of them is set "only exclusive sender …".
The global setting is including several "trusted senders", eBay too.

Now I'm getting worm-sponsored mails from eBay over the "only exclusive" set addy. EBay is not the exclusive sender!
I discern them because I have no SG-addy or no target-addy used for registration at eBay.
The eBay-addy is a trusted addy. It is surely hijacked by the worm.
I did not open one of them, I delete them all.

But it is irritating!!

Why is the "only exclusive" rule not higher than the "trusted" rule?

bad word choice, I suppose. The trusted senders can always get through.

We can change the terms :)

Hmmm?

Hi Josh!

Which words? And which whould you prefer?
Who is "we"? What should be changed?

Confused,

I think he was talking about the word 'exclusive'. Essentially you have 2 type of allowable addresses.

exclusive - This is a per disposable address that is allowed through. This address can send to that specific disposable without decreasing the message count. If this address sends to any other disposable it will decrease the count.

trusted - This is essentially a global exclusive sender. A trusted sender can send mail to *any* disposable and not decrease the count.

I'm not sure what a better wording would be. Basically you have globally trusted and locally (per address) trusted. What do you think Josh? Is a wording change necessary? Mebbe a short explanation blurb by the exclusive sender entry box?

NOTE: Exclusive senders are in addition to trusted senders.

I second that. We need to put a warning somewhere in the page where users enter exclusive/trusted senders.

:D Tx for your support!

Could we also get such a note in the German layout, please?

Other question:
Can I use for a disposable address more than one exclusive (local) sender address? :?:
Which one is the right format to split these addresses ("," or "; " or ":" or what)?
And where is an explanation for it?

And where is the view/edit button (profi mode) in the German layout? (Tip of the FAQ) 8)

Officially, we only support one exclusive sender per address. Some users have found that (due to the regex matching that is used), they can specify more than one sender using a pipe character ( | ) as the delimiter
