Mail forwarding very unreliable

Hello,

thank you for choosing to keep Spamgourmet going!

I have been happily using the service for many years. Since approximately a week mail forwarding has become very unreliable, about 1 in 10 mails appears to be forwarded. Is there any currently known issue?

Thank you!

I've tried a few emails over the past couple of days; I'm not seeing any issues.

omg, yes, I have huge problems since ~7-14 days.

I've got the severe problem, that mails from spamgourmet are forwarded to gmx.de with a huge delay. The automatic creation from new adresses is working and at my overview I can see, that new mails to existing or new aliases are forwarded but sometimes I don't get the emails or if they arrive at my gmx mailbox the delay is some hours but not "instantly".

btw: this also concerned the registration for this forum, because I didn't receive the registration email
because of Franks post above I tried to resend the information at 07:30am and got the email at 08:37am.

if I interpret the header of the mail correctly, then the mail has been forwarded normally fast within SG server and the last "hop" to GMX was done one hour later

Currently most mails seem to arrive, but with a delay between 1 and 10 hours. In my case the delay is between Spamgourmet and web.de

so it seems that it's a problem with SG and United Internet (the mother company from web.de and gmx.de)

Unfortunately not. I switched the forwarding address to my own mail server (Netcup, not United Internet), the problem remains the same. The delay appears to be between gourmet7.spamgourmet.com and gourmet8.spamgourmet.com

For some of my test mails I received a warning message from Mailer-Daemon@gourmet7.spamgourmet.com:
Code: Select all
From: Mail Delivery System <Mailer-Daemon@gourmet7.spamgourmet.com>
Subject: Warning: message 1jHaLf-00073x-HE delayed 72 hours
Message-Id: <E1jImFP-0003BC-NN@gourmet7.spamgourmet.com>
Date: Mon, 30 Mar 2020 04:42:03 +0000

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of its
recipients after more than 72 hours on the queue on gourmet7.spamgourmet.com.

The message identifier is:     1jHaLf-00073x-HE
The date of the message is:    Thu, 26 Mar 2020 22:47:24 +0100

The address to which the message has not yet been delivered is:

  [real address hidden...]
    Delay reason: H=mx00.emig.gmx.net [212.227.15.9]:
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<real address hidden...>:
450-Requested mail action not taken: mai

No action is required on your part. Delivery attempts will continue for
some time, and this warning may be repeated at intervals if the message
remains undelivered. Eventually the mail delivery software will give up,
and when that happens, the message will be returned to you.

If I understand this correctly, the GMX mailserver does not accept the email from spamgourmet, at least temporarily, and therefore it is delayed...

Hey,

someone informed me, that he tried to send an email to me and gets daily warning messages from Mailer-Daemon@gourmet7.spamgourmet.com with a "noname" file.

Further, it seems that not all messages get through (or only with a delay of several hours or days).

Cheers,

JFK

Hi all,

I can confirm the loss of mails or a very long delay.

Is there currently more information about the reasons and if it get solved?

Thanks

Hi,
I am also registered at United Internet and am pretty sure, that some mails seem to not go through and are lost since at least 2020/03/24.

For approx 2 weeks I am unable to receive any email with attachments and the email that does come through has delay of anywhere from 20 minutes to 3-4 hours

I am also experiencing the same thing. I got a letter from Bank that my email was invalid (!). They're not just delayed -- they're gone! Emails are being marked as undeliverable when I sent several test emails from iCloud account.

I'm panic-transitioning away from Spamgourmet for all emails, but i've got about 450 emails. I'm trying to focus on the critical addresses. I am really kicking myself for not doing this while there was uptime, because some of the services require confirmation via email.

I appreciate the service for continuing and would have gladly donated or paid a subscription, but emails getting bounced is pretty much the worst case scenario. I have only myself to blame I guess. What a nightmare!

Any news about this problem?

I have had the same problem since march 19Th, when a message took 62+ hours to go from spamgourmet to my gmx.com address.
Since then I have experienced both loss of messages (they never got through), a huge diversity in the delay of messages (some less than an hour, some many hours), and some messages that go through instantly, as they used to do before march 19Th.

I can't see any pattern relating to the sending part.
I have asked a couple of trusted people to send directly to my private address (not through spamgourmet) and those messages _always_ get delivered and _always_ go through instantly.
But if the same senders send through spamgourmet, most often their messages are delayed or not delivered at all.

I have only one private address registered with spamgourmet. It is a gmx.com address.

Best regards
Johnny :)

Did you try a different protected address?
You can try another one just for a couple of minutes, then have your trusted people send you through Spamgourmet.
If suddenly those Spamgourmet messages arrive quickly, at least you'll know it's about the Spamgourmet=>gmx.com connection.
