Messages from Spamgourmet suddenly arrive to Gmail's spam

Postby lwc » Wed Oct 02, 2019 10:10 pm

In the last 24 hours, basically all of the messages I got from Spamgourmet ended up in my Gmail's spam folder.
Does it happen to anyone else in Gmail or any other ISP?

If so, did something happen? The headers show the SPF as PASS, so I don't know what's going on.
Does it also mean outgoing messages arrive to people's spam folders? That's even worse as I can check my spam but I can't make others do the same.

I have noticed the same: all mail to my SG aliases is going to Gmail's spam folder as of the last day or two. I came to the website to see if I could find any more info about it.

Then could you edit your post in the other thread and add a link to this thread?
Thanks!

Maybe report this to gmail in case it is a policy change on their side.

I created a filter that is set to not have any alias go to spam.

This situation is so bad that I consider doing the same myself, but it will roll the problem under the rug.
How do we know for sure our outgoing messages don't arrive to people's spam folders 100% of the time?

I don't know how to ask Gmail to unblacklist a mail domain, do you? Forums out there suggest there's no such thing and you just have to follow their rules.
I know Spamgourmet's headers have spf=pass like Gmail asks, but Gmail also wants DKIM (with more than 1024 bits) and a declared DMARC policy.
Can anyone confirm Spamgourmet has those?
Google's Check MX shows this (note I told it to use a blank DKIM Selector not knowing which to type):

I reported this to gmail including a screenshot. Today the problem has lessened with my emails so hoping they have changed something.

To me it got completely fixed a few days ago. :D I gave it a few days before writing here to make sure it really got fixed.

No one here confirmed whether it affected outgoing messages or not. @r2d2, I think you should remove your filter in case you want to know when your outgoing messages get blocked too.

@csha, what do you mean you reported it to Gmail? How? If you just clicked the "feedback" button, I doubt it made them fix it in 1 day.

I think Spamgourmet should use this time to put DKIM and DMARC records ASAP.

Yes, I just used the feedback button while in the spam folder.

Sorry in advance for the exclamation point, but it started again!
Every single Spamgourmet message arrives to Gmail's spam folder, so I ask again:
How do we know for sure our outgoing messages don't arrive to people's spam folders?
I beg the new mysterious admin to read this and do something.
So far in October, Spamgourmet had only 1 spamless week.

Same experience here. Cleared up for a while, now back to all SG forwards in the Spam folder.

I'm almost afraid to write this but looks like it was fixed again (it started to work by the end of the weekend)! :-)

I hope it's not a matter of time before it happens again, seeing that this thread is pretty much ignored.

You can just setup a filter within gmail to stop routing messages from your usual spamgourmet domains into the spam folder, its not ideal but its worked for me. Hopefully Google will sort this out at some point.

If your message bypasses the spam filter due to your own filter, you get a big notification at the top of the email 'this bypassed the spam filters due to your filters'
