Is my server blocked by spamgourmet?

Postby Kiore » Fri Dec 24, 2010 8:37 am

I'm trying to send mail to a couple of spam gourmet addresses from my virtual server at FDC. IPv4 address 74.63.xxx.xxx and the mail keeps bouncing.

Are you able to help or offer any advice?

The bounce message I get starts
Code: Select all
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

  XXXXXX.u.XXXXX@antichef.com
    (generated from webmaster-out@que.co.nz)
SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection:
    host gourmet7.spamgourmet.com [216.75.62.102]:
    554 SMTP service not available
  XXXXXXX.u.YYYYYYY@antichef.com
    (generated from webmaster-out@que.co.nz)
SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection:
    host gourmet7.spamgourmet.com [216.75.62.102]:
    554 SMTP service not available

When I telnet in I get the following

Code: Select all
[XXXXX@XXXX ~]$ telnet gourmet7.spamgourmet.com 25
Trying 216.75.62.102...
Connected to gourmet7.spamgourmet.com.
Escape character is '^]'.
554 SMTP service not available
Connection closed by foreign host.
[XXXXX@XXXXX ~]$

nslookup seems OK:
Code: Select all
[XXXXX@XXXX ~]$ nslookup -type=mx antichef.com
Server:         66.90.68.15
Address:        66.90.68.15#53

Non-authoritative answer:
antichef.com    mail exchanger = 10 gourmet7.spamgourmet.com.

When I try this from my desktop at home I connect & can send test messages.

Ironically the addresses I'm trying to send to are mine and my wife's, we'll only be sending a very low-volume of messages.

Many thanks

Bruce
