no mail through sg since Fri 8/20 5pm

Postby iairavat » Sun Aug 22, 2010 9:55 pm

As the subject says - there is no mail coming through spamgourmet from neither of my sg accounts. Mail to my protected address comes in fine...

Last email received: Friday 8/20 at 4:44pm PDT.

Anyone else see this problem?

Josh - please help - I'm addicted to spamgourmet!

I am having the same problem, and initially thought that my mail provider might be blocking Spamgourmet. So I emailed them, and they went through their logs. This was their response -- the problem is obviously with the Spamgourmet servers:

I've had a good look through our logs and I can't see any evidence that spamgourmet.com tried to deliver the message to us. If the messages were
not being accepted by us, they should eventually bounce back to the
sender.

I just tried sending a test message to your
freecycle.2006.jolinwarren@spamgourmet.com address and it seems that
their servers are not accepting mail: "connect to
gourmet7.spamgourmet.com[216.75.62.102]:25: Connection refused"

It could be that they are blocking us, or there may be another problem
and that is why your mail isn't getting through - perhaps
spamgourmet.com can help?

gourmet7.spamgourmet.com[216.75.62.102]:25: Connection refused)

I hope the service comes back up, because it has been extremely useful over the years!

Add one more to the list of users that haven't received any emails since last Fryday.

I have 429 email addresses SG... not sure if mail is being lost or if its building up somewhere... which is scary since that store will fill up and perhaps die!

I've started moving my 'trusted' addresses over to gmail with '+' addressing. It is no where near as good as SG - but at least I expect better up-time. I looked at Yahoo - it does not allow on-the-fly addresses - ;-(

I am not getting notification of forum updates... and the SG forum profile does not accept non SG email address - 'address is banned' it says. JOY!

Anyone know of a SG equivalent alternative?

I've been using this service for song, it would be scary if it were to go down for good, as I have hundreds of different addresses.

Not a bad idea to start moving over trusted sites to Gmail + addressing...

Same here - nothing's coming through.

Glad I'm not the only one with this problem....

Edit: BTW: I tried sending one email through the SG-Servers yesterday (masked email) - Today i got a "Message delayed" - delivery status message.

So apparently there are some problems with the SG servers...

Which server originated the delayed message? Which SG server was it trying to connect with - may be able to tell from the headers...

My migration to gmail Plus address continues - it's not going to be as nice as SG though :(

I just received an email through SG with fresh headers - SG received from sender at 22:56:01 +0000, I received it at 15:56:03 -0700!

Does that mean the backlog was purged?
