Yesterday was one of that (many!!!) days, where i waited and waited and waited for my registration Mail via one of my spamgourmet addresses.
I started some testmails and they although took time to be forwarded.

That was not the first time i hat such problems. And in this group I can read may other mails having such problems.

What are the reasons for that? (SYN-Flood attacks seems to be one of that reasons!)

What can be done too change that slow behavior of Spamgourmet?

If it happens too often (Up to now it still happend TOO often!!!) I can't use spamgourmet-addresses for confirmation-mails etc..!!!

Is there an alternative to spamgourmet??

Our SMTP sever is constantly bombarded with spam, some of which being clearly meant as a denail of service attack.

Every single attacking machine is a Windows PC sitting on a cable or DSL modem.

What can be done? Drive to Redmond and whack these irresponsible Microsoft slobs for releaseing an OS that is such a security joke.

And when you hear of someone actually reading spam, or even worse, acting on it, whack him as well. Without these morons, there would be no point in spamming.

Apart from that, not much.

We continue tuning the system and improve its response time when we can, but we cannot do much to release network congestion at the network I/O level.

There is a guy that might be interested in creating a commercial version of spamgourmet. If you would be interested in subscribing to a commercial version of spamgourmet with service garantees, send a email to:
wouldbeclient.20.emphyrio (at) spamgourmet. Tell him Syskoll sent you.

I do get mail from gourmet regularly. Please check your spam folders, etc.

What spam folders? The POP server is empty from messages.

2 days and counting (some messages do come though). I use Neverbox, BTW.

A private one. I do get messages now (instantly even), just not the ones from the beginning of the week. They seem to be lost.
