exclusive sender and or subdomains problem

Postby mligr » Sun Sep 09, 2007 8:56 pm

Hi,
I have several senders that use multiple subdomains; for example rei.com and email.rei.com, and email1.americanexpress.com and email2.americanexpress.com. I put the parent domain to the exclusive sender field, but it gets ignored and the message count is decreased.

Now, looking at raw headers I see that amex is actually sending the mail from a host other than the one specified in the From: header (aexp.com). Could this be the source of the problem? However, rei.com appears to send mail from rei.com (but I see some strange address in the Message-Id: header).

So, I am not sure if this is the problem of subdomains or mismatched exclusive sender. (Could you tell me which headers are checked when trying to match an exclusive sender?)

Thanks,
Martin

can you PM me the headers?

We just look at what we think is the From: address and the To: address when matching exclusive senders.

It was a bug in another function - nothing to do with exclusive sender, but the matching logic was collateral damage
