CVS tag/branch

Postby maratheamit » Thu May 27, 2004 2:03 am

I created a branch in cvs called "branch_0-6-1". We can use this branch for the current production copy. The pre-branch repository tag is "tag_0-6_root".

Development can take place on the trunk while hot fixes can be applied to the production branch. Of course, those also have to be checked into the trunk so that they make it into the next release.

Josh, since you are the one who has access to the production server, can you make sure that the setup there runs on the above mentioned branch? The steps are quite simple:
1. create a new directory (say /tmp/sg); cd /tmp/sg
2. /tmp/sg will have subdirectories under it corresponding to the various branches
3. mkdir branch_0-6-1; cd branch_0-6-1; cvs co spamgourmet
4. cd spamgourmet/conf
5. copy spamgourmet.config.default to spamgourmet.config and then make appropriate changes
6. copy spameater-wrapper.sh.default to /etc/smrsh and then make appropriate changes. in fact, we should probably have different links from /etc/smrsh to the various versions of spameater.pl and spameater-wrapper.pl

Steps to make the switchover
7. stop sendmail
8. change ~/.forward to point to /etc/smrsh/spameater-wrapper.sh
9. start sendmail

spameater.pl and forwarder.pl don't have the correct permissions in CVS (they are not executable). We probably need to contact sourceforge.net support to correct this. I will do that over the next few days.
