Reply address masking is handy for replying back to the original sender without having to worry about changing the From: address. But a number of mailing lists leave the From: header set to the original sender, while adding a List-Post: header which mail clients use to provide a "Reply to List" feature. However, the List-Post: header is not munged by spamgourmet, so selecting "Reply to List" replies from my real address direct to the list unless I remember to change either the From: address. At best, the mailing list blocks the mail as my real address is not subscribed, so I have to resend with the right From: address (not too onerous). However, many lists let the email through after moderation, exposing my real address - particularly bad for lists which are publicly archived.
Any chance of masking the List-Post: header (and perhaps other related headers) in a similar way to the From: address?
Note that some lists set headers like
- Code: Select all
